Once we are done shopping, we all come back and get ready to go to Slidewaters! The water park in Chelan is one of its best draws for the kids. The lake and warm weather are awesome but the water park is a MUST SEE!
Now that the kids are all older, going to a water park is so much easier! This year, Claire, Michael, and Morganday were able to go off independent. A big step for them! The three 6 year olds also stayed together and then we hung out with Emily as she wasn't tall enough to go on some of the rides. Sorry, Em. Next year!
We went on all of our favorite rides and of course, got a little out of control on the tube ride where we link together and try and push each other down! Winner is the last person to come down the last slide. Do we get in trouble by the lifeguards every year? Yes. But it's worth getting in trouble because it is so fun!!!
New to the park this year was the lazy river and new kid section. It made the already awesome park even better!
| Could we be wearing smaller sunglasses? We didn't want to wear nice glasses in case they fell off on the ride or we lost them! Hilariously dorky! |
We also took a sunset swim in the lake before heading into town to take the kids on the Go-Karts! We had a blast there! Plenty of laughs to go around! The best part of the Go-Karts was that Laura was able to drive her own car this year! However, none of us took the time to process that Laura had NEVER DRIVEN A CAR INDEPENDENTLY IN HER LIFE! Such a mistake on our part in terms of helping her be as successful as possible on this track.
Basically, she made it around the track once and then on the first turn of the second lap, she kind of panicked (as she should with no prior experience). She floored it straight into the side of the track with her hands straight into the air! What a trouper, though. We put her in another car with one of us and she had a blast!
We are sad that we are leaving tomorrow but have surely had a blast. We plan on swimming for most of the day tomorrow and just soaking up each and every sunny moment!
