Swendsen "Cousin Christmas" 2006

This post is a little late, but I wanted to make sure I included it! Last Saturday (Dec. 16th) we had the 3rd Annual Cousin Christmas at our house. It is a great way for the cousins to get together and celebrate before Christmas arrives. So far, the tradition includes making and frosting sugar cookies, exchanging gifts between the cousins, and this year my nephew Brennan, thought it a was a great idea to institute face painting with frosting! It was a great day and everyone had a lot of fun. Michael and Claire were so happy to see their cousins Seamus, Megan, and Brennan and exchange gifts.

Christmas can be so overwhelming for kids. A lot of people buy them gifts and they get so overstimulated that it is hard for them to focus on any one thing. So by exchanging gifts with their cousins before Christmas, it allows them to fully enjoy the experience of togetherness, gift giving and making memories. Jocelyn wasn't able to make it here this year due to knee surgery (ACL) but was here in spirit. Besides, she got to see Brennan's stained shirt when he got home, so she knew fun was had by all. Thanks to Marlene, Mark, Lani, Eric, Seamus, Megan, Mark, Brennan, Damien, Michael, and Claire for making the Cousin Christmas so memorable. (And for making lunch, baking the cookies, and doing dishes so I could lie on the couch!).
